In OUR
Community
It’s no surprise that the Ronald McDonald House is one of our favorite charities – but it’s more for their mission than it is for our shared namesake. Supporting their mission of keeping families close while a child is in need of serious medical care is a cause Jim Black describes as “something EVERYONE should be able to agree on.” From serving on the board of directors, to serving food in the House, to running for awareness and more, The Ronald McDonald House has a special place in the heart of Black Family Restaurants.
Being a part of the communities where we operate restaurants means actually doing our part – not just keeping the golden arches polished. You’ll find our owners, management and crew at supporting events like City Fest in Hueytown, assisting Hoover Helps provide food for those in time of need, sweating it out at the Rump Shaker race, and feeding first responders a well-deserved breakfast.
There aren’t many festivals in the Birmingham that are quite as much fun as the Fiesta Celebration. From food, to art, to dance, to music, this community event celebrates all aspects of Latin culture and features performances by Hispanic entertainers that truly know how to bring down the house. The event works to strengthen the Hispanic community with a wide variety of educational programs, health and wellness insights and other areas of support. As a sponsor for many years, we still think of Fiesta as one of our favorites.
The numbers
We’re a small part of the “over 1 billion served” through the McDonald’s restaurants everywhere. Locally, we’re equally proud of some of the measurable impact we’ve had on those around us. There’s more to life than the number of Big Macs we sell.
